The IAA Physiolyzer® is a sleek, optimized system that provides innovative physiological analysis of your live, intact samples by measuring the dynamic flux of indole-3-acetic acid (IAA). This system is the world’s first complete research system for measuring endogenous and exogenous IAA for research on plant hormone signaling.
Description
Dynamic Flux Data
The IAA Physiolyzer® provides real-time dynamic flux data, by measuring the concentration, direction, influx, and efflux of indole-3-acetic acid (IAA) and additional ions/molecules, with a sensitivity up to femtomoles (10-15 moles) • cm-2 • s-1.
Live Samples
The IAA Physiolyzer® is non-invasive, allowing you to preserve the integrity of your live and healthy samples with no dyes or probes disturbing their behavior. Measureable sample sizes range from concentrated organelles, single cells (>1µm diameter), cell colonies, plant tissue, and whole small organisms.
Customized Flux Selection
This system can measure the flux of IAA plus one more ion or molecule of your choice. Additional ions and molecules can be added as an upgraded feature. Currently, the available ions and molecules are: Ca2+, H+, K+, Na+, Cl-, Mg2+, Cd2+, Cu2+, Pb2+, NH4+, NO3-, O2, and/or H2O2.
IAA Flux Profile Comparison
There are many potential applications for the IAA Physiolyzer®, and here is one really interesting research story. In our lab, we compared the IAA flux between two types of plant roots, one monocot and one dicot, and found that they had incredibly different flux profiles. As you can see in the graph, the monocot maize seems to favor IAA influx while the dicot Arabidopsis showed a clear efflux of endogenous IAA. Being able to measure endogenous IAA is a unique feature of the IAA Physiolyzer® that is not possible with most other detection techniques.
