Screening and manufacturing drought-tolerant plant varieties through biotechnology can effectively improve the drought tolerance of crops and reduce food losses caused by natural disasters. At the same time, land in arid and semi-arid areas can be used more efficiently to increase crop yields.

Tamarix ramosissima (salt cedar) is commonly known to be very resistant to drought. This study investigates the physiological responses of Tamarix ramosissima as it encounters drought stress.
