NMT Helps Reveal: How Crops Cope with Cold Stress

This video shows a real world example of how NMT has been applied into scientific research. Real flux data from "COLD1 Confers Chilling Tolerance in Rice" in Cell, (Volume 160, issue 6) by Ma Y, et al. are displayed to show how NMT can be used to discover scientific breakthroughs. With the help of NMT, scientists were able to examine calcium fluxes in response to a cold shock in rice roots. The results taught the scientists valuable information about cold tolerance in staple crops which will potentially allow farmers to grow more crops in more adverse environments.
